The Trees:

Purpleheart trees are found in Central and South America. It is a tall and relatively fast and straight growing tree. The name Purpleheart covers about 20 species, which prefer semi-tropical locations to grow to full height.

 

 



Purpleheart Wood

The Wood:

Purpleheart is named after the vibrant color of its wood. It varies from a light brown to a rich warm violet to a deep purple-brown, and all variations in between. Much of its color steadfastness depends on how it is preserved. It is a readily available wood used mainly for its decorative color.
