Valet Jewelry Box
This is the final product after one month of design. This solid Cherry valet box has a hint of Asian influence, with the upside down curves along the top of box body. The lid is a one inch thick piece of Bubinga that was cut many times and laminated with Cherry. The Cherry cross will fit in only one position for the lid to rest in the body of the box. There is a finger recess which indicates the front of the box. To orient the lid, there is an Ebony finger lift for separating the lid from the rest of the box. The interior is completed with a wine suede. Finally the mitered corners are provided extra strength from Walnut, and Maple splines. The splines are positioned on 10 degree angles. This piece is finished in several hand applied coats of Tung Oil.

Artist Biography

My work is completed with hand tools. Saws, chisels, wooden planes,  & various marking instruments. My work is refined to simple shapes,  harmonious with the wood itself.  My efforts are to craft compelling 
pieces that are soothing to the eyes, and to touch. I allow the beauty  of the wood to speak for itself, only lending my hands in the  refinement and shaping of each piece.
