Artist Biography

Scott & Stephanie are a husband and wife team that create fine custom furniture for the home and office. They also create hand carved wooden bowls and sculptural vessels and wall pieces. Scott, although mostly self taught, has had training with famous furniture makers Sam Maloof and David Marks. Most of the furniture involves the process of hand shaping and carving to give them a more sculptural element. Making them not only very comfortable, but an artistic heirloom piece to pass down for generations. They work with all types of woods, from domestic to exotic and burls. Although their designs are predominately on a contemporary side, they do all styles of furniture designs. They can create a special design just for you or work with your ideas. Their carved bowls and vessels come mostly from "Forest Reclaimed" woods, such as Juniper. The process starts with a chainsaw to remove a bulk of the wood and start the shaping. Then various grinders are used to shape the piece to its final form. Turquoise or other stones and gems are added to enhance the piece and then hours of sanding are done to a smooth finish and finish is then applied to the right sheen. Scott & Stephanie are constantly perfecting their techniques and designs and take pride in knowing their pieces will last for generations.
