Artist Biography Jennifer was a long time resident of the Pacific Northwest. After graduating from college, she apprenticed as a fine woodworker. She then went on to study woodworking at Oregon School of Arts and Crafts. There she honed her skills and began to develop her own unique sense of furniture design. In 1984 she began working as a self employed designer-maker of studio furniture and art pieces in wood. Jennifer's woodwork is found in homes, institutions and houses of worship across the United States. Her pieces have been in regional and national shows, as well as included in six books. In 2003 she moved to the Big Island of Hawai'i where she built her own studio overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Her work blends Asian design with elements found in the natural world. Her work is elegant, finely crafted, and often whimsical. From the first stages in the design process to the final sanding, she is careful and precise. Jennifer's handcrafted pieces will last many lifetimes. |
