Artist Biography
Thirty-five years of woodworking have not put a damper on my enthusiasm for my craft. I still feel a great sense of excitement and gratification with the process of creating. From finding the perfect wood from around the world to calculating design, the process continually presents new challenges. The natural beauty of the wood never ceases to amaze or inspire me. Blending the use of modern tools and machinery with ones that have stood the test of time together with the mastery of skill and technique contribute to my ultimate goal of intricate craftsmanship. The fact that each piece is a work of art that will be handed down for generations brings me great satisfaction.
My Montana roots gave me a love of wood and natural beauty and my deep respect for the furniture masters Krenov, Nakashima and Maloof has influenced my philosophy. But the technical achievements, the essential curves, glass tambour doors and exacting details are quintessential Neiman.
My goals? Self inflicted perfection, incredible detail and balance between structure and style. My work is popular beyond the Pacific Northwest and can be found across North America .
