Artist Biography
Growing up in Maine, Mike had many hobbies: rock collecting, model building, woodworking and drawing. His dad helped him in these hobbies by teaching Mike to use his hands. Mike's dad taught him to take pride in his work and to be creative.
Mike's renewed interest in woodworking took a step forward after he read an article about Intarsia. He liked the idea of using only the natural colors and grains of different woods in his projects. Mike continues that practice today. There are no stains, paints or dyes in any of his Intarsia Keepsake Boxes, Pet Urns or Intarsia Art.
In 2001, Mike moved into his new shop in Midlothian, VA and has since expanded his product line to include finished Intarsia pieces, custom keepsake boxes, turned wooden pens, custom pet urns, marble-top tables, and other fine custom woodworks.
Mike can create a custom Intarsia Keepsake Box, Pet Urn or Framed Intarsia Wall Hanging from any photo or picture. |
