Artist Biography
Steve Foley was born in Oregon and began exploring working with wood in the home workshop. Later at college pursuing other avenues he would whittle wood to pass the time.
He has been working in craft for over 40 years, and is primarily self taught. His bending wood using steam and complicated molds has become his trademark. He spends time living between Portland, OR and Buenos Aires, Argentina
Steve Foley's spinning wheel is part of the National Collection of Fine Arts at the Smithsonian. He has been featured on TV, newspapers and magazines including the New York Times, Washington Post, and Fine Woodworking magazines.
His furniture designs are in the homes of fine art collectors around the world.
