Artist - Steve Altman
Steve has been working with wood over 40 years.
His father worked as a paper box maker, and was an early inspiration
to Steve, who witnessed the work and precision that went into
creating many different shapes and sizes of boxes. After more
than 20 years working as a luxury cabinetmaker, Steve began focusing
on his own designs and craft.
Now Steve makes boxes. Each one is unique, created
from hand selected woods carefully combined into functional and
beautiful designs. The character of each one shines through as
an individual work of art, yet retains the usefulness of a keepsake,
jewelry or purely decorative box.
